What are piquet cards?
Piquet cards are a selection of cards from a standard deck of playing cards. They include the 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of each suit. In total, there are 32 piquet cards in a single deck.
The cards 2 through 6 and jokers are not part of the piquet cards. The name originates from the French game Piquet, which is logically played with this selection of cards. Other card games that use piquet cards include Toepen, Blackjack (Twenty-One), and Thirty-One.
Some card games that are exclusively played with a piquet deck include:
- Mau-Mau
- Klaverjassen
- Kruisjassen
- Thirty-One
- Toepen
- Skat
- Belote
